1) Provide an educational outdoor learning environment
2) Provide multisensory adult structured learning activities
3) Use outdoor space to encourage movement and learning
What will be done with my students
The materials requested will be used to provide adult-structured educational activities. Different centers will be created, such as writing (literacy), science, construction, or art. Students will complete adult-structured educational activities with the requested materials.
Benefits to my students
Students will be able to expand their choices of play (work) while on the playground. With more choices students will have more opportunities to work on social skills and different academic skills, such as letter recognition, counting, sorting, or creative expression.
Describe the Students
My students are from a small, Title 1 school. Many of my students have special needs, such as language delays or impairments, fine motor delays, or are on the spectrum. I do have students that do not fall under one of the aforementioned categories and serve as models for my special needs students. All of my students are 3-4 years old and their academic performance varies as much as their personalities.
