Goal

My goal is to provide purposeful, engaging, and hands on math activities for my 42 fourth grade math students.

What will be done with my students

Students will be provided with tools and games to make math come alive during instruction and centers. These manipulatives will provide visual representation to challenging concepts and will be apart of their center activities and games.

Benefits to my students

Based on beginning of the year test data, my students scored lowest in multiplication, division, and fractions. These skills are key to building on other math standards throughout the year so it is essential that they are mastered and practiced. The supplies provided by this grant will enhance instruction and centers by providing students with multiple opportunities to learn through manipulatives and games.

In addition to using these activities every day, my students also take pictures of the things they are working on in class and post them to "Our Class Story" on a classroom website called ClassDojo. Students and parents are connected to this website so it will be used in building confidence in what they are doing in the classroom by sharing these fun and educational moments with classmates and parents.

Budget Narrative

All of these materials are non-consumable and can be used for multiple math concepts. I will be able to use them year after year with my students. The items are available through www.learningresources.com.
