Goal

To increase interest in professional and recreational reading.

To provide portable research equipment.

What will be done with my students

The tablets will be used as soon as they arrive in the classroom.

Students will be able to log on to Reading Wonders, Tumblebooks.com, AR and other reading website to read ebooks. Because the internet has a wealth of ebook resources, students have a large range of ebooks at their disposal to read for class.

Additionally, fifth grade students do a variety of research throughout the year. A tablet will allow more students to complete their research which will decrease the amount of wait time other students will experience.

Benefits to my students

The tablets will be used for students in my language arts class. It will reach 4th and 5th grade students. Adding tablets to the classroom will allow students to have additional technology platforms to use throughout the day and alleviate the demand of computers already in the classroom. Students are able to access a wider range of books and appropriate research materials.

Budget Narrative

Two iPad Mini's will assist with the technology demands in the classroom.
