What will be done with my students

The Project Mission
A small group of people are stranded after a flash flood. While rescuers have determined a search area, they are unsure of the exact whereabouts and conditions of those stranded. Your team has been called upon to provide rapid response, via an Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS), that can support the Search and Rescue (SAR) mission. In order to support this mission, your UAS must comply with Special Instructions (SPINS) for departure and arrival procedures, and then remain within assigned airspace. It will be tasked to search an area for items of interest and to conduct point reconnaissance. Please use your prior knowledge for this exercise.

Benefits to my students

Students will gain industry-leading experience by using cutting-edge technology, their acquired background knowledge, and developed STEM knowledge to complete this project-based exercise.

Describe the Students

Our student population are of a low-economic social structure in which generally impedes their involvement in activities in which cost money or the materials are in high demand. This opportunity will provide for the unique opportunity for our students to experience a high-demanded technology that would otherwise not be available to them.
