Goal

Students will become aware of the offerings and requirements of a 4 year university that offers programs in high interest technology fields such as TV production and video game production.

What will be done with my students

Students will tour Full Sail University and have an opportunity to explore the studios, labs and workshops where they can earn bachelor's degrees in the fields of technology, video production and gaming. They will have an opportunity to interact with technology as well as with the students currently enrolled at the university.

Benefits to my students

Students will gain a vision of what the requirements are and be able to detail the steps needed to achieve their goal of attending a four year university. The fields of study offered by Full Sail University are of high interest to this group of students but many have not heard of this small private college.

Describe the Students

The students are in the middle range of abilities as measured by FSA test scores in reading and writing. The students who qualify for AVID are typically from low-income and minority families. Most of the students in the AVID program will be the first among their family members to attend college. They do not have the "college knowledge" other students may have due to family or socioeconomic factors.
