Goal

Our goal is to use gardening as a way to enrich our math and science lessons with hands on standard based activities. We provide plants, seeds, and raised bed gardens for all classrooms to use while teaching about recycling, composting, environmental science, and water conservation.

What will be done with my students

Students will be able to plants gardens and care for plants throughout the school year. Students will record data in Science/Gardening journals, predict, sketch drawings, experiment, and harvest crops from their gardens. This is a year long process that will encourage students to be lifelong learners and gardeners.

Benefits to my students

All students at our school from K-5th grade have the opportunity to practice and deepen their math, science, and language skills with hands on, fun lessons. All students have the opportunity to learn more about plants, the environment, composting, and water conservation while practicing math and science standards.
