Goal

Our goal is to engage our students and enhance their learning through a home to school connection program.  

 

What will be done with my students

Our students will be provided with the tools necessary to practice their learning at home. The students will be provided with magnetic white boards, markers, erasers, magnetic letters, Just Right books and journals to support their in-class learning at home. 

 

Benefits to my students

Our students will benefit through additional reading and writing practice at home. Parents and families will benefit from being provided with the tools necessary to enhance their students’ learning. 

 

Describe the Students

Our classrooms are diverse. We have students who receive ELL, ESE, Title 1 and behavioral support. The students are eager to learn. Many of the kindergartners we work with this year are struggling because of their inability to attend Pre-K last year, due to COVID. The additional support this grant will provide for our students and their families will assist us in our efforts to close the achievement gaps. This grant will support an at home reading program required for any struggling Level 3 student. 

 

Budget Narrative

The supplies provided through this grant will allow us to offer our students and their families an extension to their learning in the classroom. Many families have requested this extra support and are willing to extend their students’ learning at home.
