What will be done with my students

Our 4th Graders will be transported by a charter motor
coach to and from St. Augustine. Our tour company, Flamingo Educational Tours, will guide students to several of the city’s most important sites including the Castillo de San Marcos, the St. Augustine History Museum, the Old Jail, the Oldest Store Museum Experience and more. Our students will also have some free time to explore and shop in the city such as St. George Street which is filled with unique shops and places to visit.

Benefits to my students

At Highland, we hope to inspire and instill knowledge and skills to students in topics through various learning experiences such as field trips. Our field trip will highlight the rich history of the nation’s oldest city and bring our Florida History/Literacy lessons to life. If we are able to meet our budget needs our 4th Grade students will gain valuable experiences and interactions within a city outside of their "norm".

Budget Narrative

Our 4th Grade team does not receive any funding from the school or the school district. Last year the students were able to raise money needed through on-campus sales selling glow-in-the-dark slime and fidget spinners. Fundraising is one of our biggest challenges as a team.
