Project Goal

The goal of this project is to upgrade our classroom pets' habitat to a larger cage to allow for greater movement and easier cage cleaning.

How Project Benefits Students

My students come from below the poverty line in a rural area. Many of them to not have experience working with small animals to build responsibility and their zoology knowledge. We currently have 2 guinea pigs in a small cage that is difficult to clean. If this project is funded it will allow for my students to experience the classroom pets in a more spacious and cleanly environment. This will allow the more timid students to feel comfortable in handling the guinea pigs.

Expected Outcome(s)

If this grant is funded it will impact not only my current class of 18 students, but the students in years to come. If we are able to purchase this cage it will last for about 5-7 years; if each year I have around 20 students that's an estimated impact of 140 students!
