Project Goal

We are hoping to have 5 laptops for our students to use in the classroom.

How Project Benefits Students

Our school district has an amazing wealth of digital resources. We want to give our students more frequent and ready access to these resources.

iReady is a computer program that gives each child reading and math lessons tuned to their specific ability level, helping the student developmentally improve and grow. Since it is a digital reading and math program, these tailored lessons are delivered immediately to the student.

Another example of a great digital resource that students can access on laptops is MobyMax and Brainpop Jr. - there are activities and games in nearly every subject that helps students grow in their learning and curiosity.

There are also many other digital resources that will be available to students if we receive these laptops - a few examples are virtual science labs, virtual field trips, and MyOn (our school district's digital library).

By having these laptops in the classroom, students will be able to much more frequently access these online resources, using them for every day for independent work and exploration.

Expected Outcome(s)

With your help in funding this grant, the hope is that students will more easily gain mastery of the Florida reading and math standards at an increased pace. They are forever interested in technology and the "newness" off it. By framing their learning standards within digital activities and games, we hope and expect that the children's interest will lead to greater and faster leaps in their learning and abilities in reading, math, and science.
