As a PBIS school we strive to teach our students clear behavior and character expectations, which we call our Cougar PRIDE. We recognize students who are successfully showing their PRIDE with Cougar Cash that students can use to buy rewards in our monthly Cougar Store or tickets to our 4 large events throughout the year. All of this is to celebrate and reinforce our students who come to school and show that they are Prepared, Respectful, Independent, Disciplined and show Excellence!

As a school with 94% Free/Reduced lunch we could greatly use financial support to sustain this initiative at our school. We also have 3 self-contained ESE classrooms, where students need even more frequent reinforcement for appropriate behavior due to their disabilities.

Project Goal

How Project Benefits Students

Our entire school benefits when we are able to improve student behavior through clearly teaching and then reinforcing expected behaviors of our students. With improved school-wide behavior teachers are able to focus on providing instruction to meet the needs of all of our students. While focusing our efforts on both the culture of our school as well as academic progress we have seen great improvements in our school grade over the past 2 school years!

Expected Outcome(s)

By setting and maintaining high expectations for student behavior and rewarding the students who meet them, we expect to maintain our learning gains and remain a "C" school OR BETTER!
