Project Goal

To add STEM learning to 4th and 5th grade students so that they can in turn teach K-5. 5th and 4th grade students will learn using STEM book, science text, and robotics to create school wide STEM question for K-5th grade students. K-5th grade students will receive pencils, stamps or buttons for correct answers. f

How Project Benefits Students

Student lead STEM learning will create a science club Stem questions for our morning show. K- 5th grade will gain understanding, knowledge of STEM, science and math benchmarks. This learning will help break down learning barriers of Dover students. These barriers are 97% of our students are in low social economics with 94% ELL learners. STEM is hands on learning of robotics and STEM books will help students gain background knowledge and deepen understanding of benchmarks.

Expected Outcome(s)

Students of the STEM club will gain understanding and background knowledge that is needed to go deeper with core subjects. Students will be taking mini assessment, nine weeks test , district test and end of year test with a score of 70% or higher to show mastery. Data will be keep on the number of students participating in the STEM Club morning show questions. Awards will be given out for correct answers of stickers, buttons and pencils.

Detailed Cost Summary

STEM books and science read aloud will give student text evidence to support a deeper understanding. The books will aid the students in writing science club questions on K- 5 benchmarks to help students learn. STEM robotic materials are for building and exploring. The awards are for the students who get the student lead learning questions correct.
