Goal
I am looking to enhance literacy instruction in my classroom by incorporating the use of a monthly magazine subscription to Scholastic Storyworks.
What will be done with my students
Using Scholastic Storyworks in my classroom has many benefits for students. First and foremost, students will be exposed to high interest texts of all genres. All activities included with the subscription are aligned to our current standards. There are even options to adjust lexile levels of texts to meet all students' needs. Each month students will have hands on access to their own magazine. Using Storyworks as a supplement will increase student engagement and key literacy skills.
Benefits to my students
By incorporating Storyworks in my literacy block, I expect to see students more engaged in reading lessons and as a result I expect to see an increase in reading levels and test scores.
Budget Narrative
This cost includes a year long subscription where each of my students will receive their own magazine each month, that they will be able to keep. This cost also includes shipping and handling.
