Goal

The hopes with this grant is to use each and every item with a science and math activity. In my classroom, I am all about hands on minds on activities. The goal is to put away the textbooks and let these children experience science and math in real life situations. It is the Karate Kid Myagi affect. They learn by playing, building, creating, brainstorming, and team building. The goal of this project is to take my classroom and my students to the next level.

What will be done with my students

My hope and prayer is that this project will benefit my student's behavior and academics. This project will also benefit classroom environment. The hope is through this grant both academics and scores increase as well as students love, passion, character are also impacted. We must continue to pour into student's minds as well as their hearts. Each item is key to many lessons. For example, the stem and force activity is used with several units in science. Speed, force, motion, time is used within this lesson. Tuning forks are used in motion, sound and allows students to use a tool they probably will never use after elementary school. Each and every object listed will be utilized in many lessons throughout the year.

Benefits to my students

The outcome is that scores increase, knowledge is gained, and students show growth over the year. Also, the outcome is that student's characters are molded and their lives are enriched by the classroom environment that is placed around them. Change is needed in this world and if we can start by molding, cultivating, and pouring into my 40 plus students that is a great place to start. At the end of each science lesson and math lesson we assess. The hope is that all these items allow my students to learn and grow academically. The goal is to show growth for each child. Each child is different so growth will be seen from form 1 score to form 3 score. That starts now in August and we work until May assessing, and collecting data.
