Goal
Improve students' vocabulary along with reading comprehension, writing, high stakes testing, and critical thinking skills.
What will be done with my students
Vocabulary is difficult for most of our students. By incorporating the Wordly Wise 3000 Book 5 into our daily routine, students will will be exposed to and have the opportunity for critical practice with a deeper understanding of new vocabulary. Students will engage in activities that align with current state and national standards. This will set each student up for success.
Wordly Wise 3000 will be used as an added resource to our daily lessons.
Benefits to my students
This grant will benefit four classrooms of fifth grade students and two teachers. Exposing students to new vocabulary words and strategies for comprehending the words along with the correct way of using the words will improve their classroom test scores as well as their state test scores.
