What will be done with my students

The students will use the manipulative toys to improve fine motor skill development and support the curriculum. They will use the chunky puzzles to learn their letters and numbers. They will use the shape sorting clock to match shapes, reinforce learning their numbers and begin to tell time. The stack and count parking garage will also assist with learning numbers and counting. The see and spell will help with letter recognition and spelling which can be reinforced with the magnetic chalkboard to begin writing letters. The latches board and lacing beads will support fine motor development and will also help with dressing skills. The construction and building sets, pound and roll tower, and the magnetic gear board will also support fine motor development, problem solving skills and eye-hand coordination. The suspend game will reinforce fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination and problem solving skills as well as promote social skills.

Our students are working on functional academic skills within a life skills curriculum in order to obtain more independent living skills. .
Our students have significant sensory integration and fine motor deficits that need to be addressed within the lesson to optimize learning opportunities in the educational environment.
