Goal

Purchase supplies for my fourth and fifth grade art students to create a three-dimensional wired "Tree of Life."

What will be done with my students

Creating a Sculpture will allow art students to meet their state approved curriculum requirement regarding three-dimensional art (Big Ideal S, Skills, Techniques and Processes: Sculpture).

Benefits to my students

This project will expand my students’ understanding of art that “takes up space,” and allow them to investigate and improve their abilities in creating a three-dimensional object.

Each fourth and fifth grade student will be provided with the necessary supplies to create a wired tree using a black rock as a base. The tree will be adorned with beads to add the decorative look that Gustaf Klimt created in his painting “The Tree of Life.”
